Moms on Wheels

Moms on Wheels (MoW) is an initiative by WE Bike NYC. MoW helps provide support, resources, knowledge sharing, and community building for moms in NYC looking to get around town with their kids on bikes. This group is closed to female-identifying and gender non-conforming adults only (children of all genders are welcome), to help foster a safe and supportive space.

If you’re interested in getting more involved with MoW, email us at info@webikenyc.org and momsonwheels@webikenyc.org!!

Or join our Facebook Group to get connected with other moms trying to navigate cycling in the city with the kids!

Some History:
In 2013, WEBike NYC kicked off the Moms on Wheels program with a series of great events supported by local sponsors (listed below). In 2014, we expanded our program to reach more mothers & children. In 2015, we went on Kidical Mass NYC rides, met each other and our kids at a meet & greet, and rode Summer Streets together.

By providing support, suggestions and activities for moms and their children, we hope to create an environment where mothers can begin to feel comfortable on the road with their children, and then in turn, reach out to more moms who want to ride with their kids. To that end, as a community, WE lead child-centric rides, opportunities to talk to other mothers who bike, and outreach events where moms can try out different child seats, trailers and bikes.

Check out the links above to learn about our upcoming events! Thanks for checking us out, hope to see you on the road.
