Hi Moms on Wheels,
WE wanted to make sure you all knew about a special event happening this weekend:
Kids Bike Forum
Sunday, April 10
10:00am – 1:00pm – 185 Ellery Street, Charlie’s Place, Brooklyn, NY 11206
RSVP on Facebook or EventBrite!
Biking with your kids in NYC is amazing, and WE Bike NYC’s Mom’s on Wheels along with KidicalMass NYC wants to help make it happen! Are you an avid cyclist, but your kids not so much? Are your kids ready to bike on the street? Are your kids ready to go longer distances? How do you get started biking in the city with your kids? Where did you get THAT bike? Come discuss these important issues and more at Kids’ Bike Forum 2016!
The event is free, but you will need to bring a kids bike helmet (and a kid!) for the Kids Bike Skills Class. Pre-registration for the class is available here.
WE’ll be there tabling and talking riding bikes with kids, and would love to see you there!
All the best,
Evonne and Casey
P.S. Can’t come, but want to know what’s going on with Moms on Wheels? Join the conversation online with our Moms on Wheels Facebook Group!
Please join us for our first event of the summer this Saturday! WE want to continue growing our community of Moms on Wheels, so please share this event, or bring a friend (or two)!
Moms On Wheels: Meet and Greet Waterfront Ride
Saturday July 11
9:30am meetup, Meet and Greet for 1 hour, ride following – Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6, at Joralemon Street, Brooklyn
Join WE Bike NYC’s Moms On Wheels as we meet and greet with moms (or moms to be) on Saturday July 11th 2015 and take our first ride of the season!
WE’ll meet at Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park, on the grassy area between Fornino outdoor seating and the Volleyball Courts. Join us whether you have small children (or are thinking about it!) and want to understand what family cycling looks like, if your little ones are getting their feet wet with bicycling in their first season riding, or if your kids are older and you are looking for fun bike activities to do as a family. WE’ll be skillsharing for the first hour, then taking a short, 2 mile bike ride along the waterfront down to Red Hook to Louis Valentino Jr Park. Looking forward to meeting you and your little ones!
Note: This event is open to women, female-identifying, and gender nonconforming people only (for grownups – kids of all genders are welcome to attend with their grownup).
Any questions? Email us at email@example.com!
All the best,
Evonne and Elyse (your ride leaders)

One of WE Bike NYC’s most important projects is underway in Corona Queens. WE Bike NYC aims to get more women on bikes. For many of us, that has meant joining together to celebrate a love of biking. But for some communities, that means entering the community for the first time.
This past week, WE Bike NYC launched our Corona project in Queens. Twelve badass women from the local community joined our group to build their first bicycles, learn basic mechanics, and in just nine short weeks, they will take the reigns and lead rides in their communities with their new skills.
Here are some photos from our classes last week, and there are only more great experiences on the way.
